Thought to be a subspecies of P. rosulatum, P. cactipes is from south Madagascar and is a shrub-sized pachypodium.

Yellow flowers.

Light: Full sun to very bright indoor light.

Water: Water regularly in summer growing season if outdoors. Mostly dry in winter dormant period, water every few weeks lightly.

Temperature: Min. 10C but can handle very short periods of 0C if dry soil.

Pachypodiums may lose all or some of their leaves in winter when they go dormant. They will grow new leaves in spring.
