Pachypodium lamerei

Pachypodium lamerei

Native to Madagascar, P. lamerei is perhaps the most well-known variety of Pachypodium, often called the “Madagascar Palm” (though it is not a palm.)

Grows to small tree size in habitat, but will grow more slowly and not as tall in pot.

White flowers.

Light: Full sun to very bright indoor light.

Water: Water regularly in summer growing season. Mostly dry in winter dormant period, water every few weeks lightly.

Temperature: Min. 10C but can handle very short periods of 0C if dry soil.

Pachypodiums may lose all or some of their leaves in winter when they go dormant. They will grow new leaves in spring.

Important: The above growing specifications are general guidelines. Each home or outdoor area has it’s own unique micro-climate which can influence a plant’s growth.
