Native to South Africa, growing in arid scrub and grassland. Large caudiciform taproot.
Crimson, pink or white flowers.
Light: Full sun to very bright indoor light.
Water: Water regularly in summer growing season. Mostly dry in winter dormant period, water every few weeks lightly.
Temperature: Min. 10C but can handle very short periods to 0C if dry soil.
*Pachypodiums may lose all or some of their leaves in winter when they go dormant. They will grow new leaves in spring.
