Also called “Split Rock Plant”, due to its appearance, which evolved so as to blend in with its native semi-arid South African environment. Resembles lithops (aka “Living Stones”.)
Orange-yellow flowers.
Light: Bright light including three to four hours of full sun per day (south or southwest facing windowsill if indoors.)
Water: Watering can be trickier than with other succulents. These plants store most of their water in their fleshy leaves and have shallow root systems. When the leaves start to look somewhat shriveled, that is the best time to water – it can be weeks or even months between needed waterings (especially in a humid climate.) Over watering can cause the plant leaves to burst.
Temperature: Min. 0C for short periods, generally over 10C is best.
Important: The above growing specifications are general guidelines. Each home or outdoor area has it’s own unique micro-climate which can influence a plant’s growth.
