Native to parts of the Caribbean, including Grenada, the Lesser Antilles and Tobago.
Melocacti are sometimes called Turk’s Cap cactus, due to the hat-like cephalium, which can begin to develop on the plant when they are a few years old.
Small deep pink flowers on top of cephalium.
Light: Full sun to part sun
Water: More in summer growing season, but allow to mostly dry between waterings. In winter, should be watered slightly more than desert cactus.
Temperature: More sensitive to cold than some cacti – should not be exposed to temps under 10C for any length of time.
